How to pair a Motorola HS850 bluetooth headset

How to place a Motorola HS 850 bluetooth headset into paring mode:

  1. Close the boom to turn the unit off.
  2. Hold down the call button until the blue light comes on.
  3. While holding down the call button, swing the boom open.

The headset is now in pairing mode, and you can search for it using your phone. When it asks for a PIN, use 0000.

2.Hold down the call button until the blue light comes on.

2a. The Blue light comes on solid and stays on for a few seconds)3-4 sec. Make sure you do step 3 immediately b4 the blue light turns off again…if not repeat step 1 again.

3.While holding down the call button, swing the boom open.

i can pair my phine with my head set but everytime I close the boom i have to connect again, and it wont work, i try to make a call either by typing in the phone number on my phone or using the voice dialing and its like it wont send it to my headset, only the phone will work, like if I want to make a call by voice you open the boom and press the call button and then you say the name of the person you want to call after the beep, i have to voice tag done on the phone only instead of the headset beeping at me to tell me to say the name the phone does instead.

    Troy:

Closing the boom will turn the headset off, disconnecting from the phone.

However, opening the boom should turn it back on, and it SHOULD try to re-connect with the last phone it was paired with at that time.

The other behavior sounds very funny, and could be the result of a bad headset (or accidentally pushing the call button twice). Try to re-pair your phone with your headset and see if that helps.
