Nico,

It sounds like your Dad is in an area of poor reception. I don't think the LG CU-500 has an inherent antenna problem, but I did not test it in areas of very low coverage, so it may not perform as well as phones with an external (or pull-out) antenna.

Jake,
It may be easier to remap the browser button to start up some other application (as opposed to disabling all Internet access). However, as I no longer have this phone I can't give you detailed instructions

Typically, you can call your phone carrier to ask them to restrict your account so that it can not send/receive SMS messages or access the web if you are worried about accidental data usage.

Thanks Jay for the scoop on BitPim. I have the LG CU500 and need to know if there is a section I can edit that will restrict all internet access. Using pre-paid and do not want any extra charges from accidently accessing the browser, as it happens often due to the location of the button on the phone.

Brian:
If the PIN number is sometimes accepted, and sometimes not, I would suspect that they keypad is malfunctioning and giving incorrect key presses to the software.

Have the LG TW 500 since Feb 08. Pin number will not always be accepted when switching on. Any clues?

Have an LG TU500 phone approx. 18mths old. Was sent back while under warranty with software problem 12mths after purchase, all good.
My problem is that the headset icon has appeared top right corner and the phone will not operate. When I go to SETTINGS/PROFILES it shows the headset as being activated. Trouble is that I dont know how to get it back to normal. There is no mention of this ICON in the supplied user guide. Would appreciate any help.
Regards
