(apparently each tube is actually 0.00568 inches larger than 1&#8243;) This means my entire display would be 3\/8&#8243; too narrow, which just won&#8217;t work with the tolerances I have designed into my tube holder.  That is why I only have 22 tubes in this video&#8230;.the 23rd tube was just far enough off to not fit into it&#8217;s proper hole.<\/p>\n<p>I fixed it by cutting the tube holder into 3 pieces and mounting them with a 1\/4&#8243; gaps between them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/gap_cut_in_support_board.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/gap_cut_in_support_board-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"A gap cut into a board\" title=\"gap_cut_in_support_board\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2381\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/gap_cut_in_support_board-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/gap_cut_in_support_board-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/gap_cut_in_support_board.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>I also had to space the end pieces of aluminum farther out, which meant I had to drill 4 new holes to mount the side brackets to the bottom board 1\/2&#8243; farther apart. Luckily the T-Sloted aluminum mounting system allowed me to easily move my L-Brackets up slightly to hit the new holes.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/mounting_holes_slid_right_and_up.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/mounting_holes_slid_right_and_up-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"mounted to two new holes 1\/4&quot; farther out\" title=\"mounting_holes_slid_right_(and_up)\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2383\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/mounting_holes_slid_right_and_up-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/mounting_holes_slid_right_and_up-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/mounting_holes_slid_right_and_up.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p> Unfortunately, I mounted the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/2012\/08\/05\/serial-shift-register-mosfet-driver-version-1-1\/\">Shift MOSFET<\/a> circuit boards on TOP of the screw heads holding the tube support board, so I had to take them all off to re-position the tube support board.
