After enclosing my printer with an insulated box, I decided that I needed to drop more heat before the plastic entry side of the end of the barrel. I accomplished this by turning an extra long barrel out of brass, and a small heatsink out of aluminum to go between the heater and the Groove Mount. <\/p>\n<p>You can see the barrel compared to the original part here:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/original_and_replacement_part.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/original_and_replacement_part-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"original_and_replacement_part\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-2874\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/original_and_replacement_part-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/original_and_replacement_part-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p>The barrel was straightforward to turn out of a piece of 1\/4&#8243; hex stock.
