Over the last seven days the average age has risen slightly to 33.8, and I expect this average age to increase as more children in the 12-16 age group are vaccinated.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/deaths_over_time.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5400\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/deaths_over_time.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"463\" height=\"469\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/deaths_over_time.png 463w, https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/deaths_over_time-296x300.png 296w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 463px) 100vw, 463px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Deaths<\/strong><br \/>\nThe number of deaths per day has held relatively steady at a reported 1.93 per day, (60 total) in May. (Compared to 2 per day in April.) \u00a0 The summer peak (June 22nd 2020 to July 22nd, 2020) \u00a0 had 6.97 average deaths per day (223 total deaths), so the number of deaths is around 25% of our worst month. Total reported COVID-19 deaths overall in Orange County \u00a0 Florida is at 1309 as of June 1st 2021.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Percent Positivity<\/strong><br \/>\nThese numbers are significantly better than in April, with every day out of the last 14 under 5%, and 13 days under 4%.  \u00a0 \u00a0 Community spread is starting to be under control.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/percent_positivity_end_of_May2021.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5401\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/percent_positivity_end_of_May2021.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1013\" height=\"248\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/percent_positivity_end_of_May2021.png 1013w, https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/percent_positivity_end_of_May2021-300x73.png 300w, https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/percent_positivity_end_of_May2021-768x188.png 768w, https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/percent_positivity_end_of_May2021-500x122.png 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1013px) 100vw, 1013px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThis is a significant improvement over the end of last month:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/percent_positivity_2021-05-01.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5379\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/percent_positivity_2021-05-01.png\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 988px) 100vw, 988px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/percent_positivity_2021-05-01.png 988w, https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/percent_positivity_2021-05-01-300x71.png 300w, https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/percent_positivity_2021-05-01-768x181.png 768w, https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/percent_positivity_2021-05-01-500x118.png 500w\" alt=\"\" width=\"988\" height=\"233\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>How many people have been vaccinated<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Florida department of health reports that as of <a href=\"http:\/\/ww11.doh.state.fl.us\/comm\/_partners\/covid19_report_archive\/vaccine\/vaccine_report_20210529.pdf\">May 27th 2021<\/a>, 510,582  Orange County residents \u00a0 (36.6% of the total population) have been fully vaccinated. Children under the age of 12 are not yet eligible for vaccination, but also have minimal direct health risks from catching covid-19 (other than the risk of transmission to others.)<\/p>\n<p>The rate of vaccination uptake has slowed, large community vaccination sites are being shuttered and replaced by smaller pop-up clinics at targeted sites as well as distribution via local pharmacy&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/vaccination_rate.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-5402\" src=\"https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/vaccination_rate.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"674\" height=\"452\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/vaccination_rate.png 674w, https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/vaccination_rate-300x201.png 300w, https:\/\/www.summet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/vaccination_rate-447x300.png 447w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 674px) 100vw, 674px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Predictions for June:<br \/>\n<\/strong><br \/>\nI expect that daily case numbers will decline in June, hopefully going below 100-per day by the end of the month. Deaths are also likely to slowly reduce over time.
