Picture 11 - Socrates' Cell

The stone foundation in this picture made up the Athenian jail. The particular cell
pictured is believed to be where Socrates spent his time waiting to be executed, as it
is the only cell that has
drainage for a bath and enough room for many friends to visit, activities that were
described in Plato's Phaedo.
