
However, not everybody had fun on the ferry, especially the 13 hour ride to Crete and back. If you are susceptible to motion sickness as a few in the group were, I would strongly suggest taking medication for it before embarking. I have a very strong stomach, but even I was feeling slightly queasy on the way back from Crete. Something about walking down a long (100 feet) and narrow (4 feet) hallway where the end is sometimes well below you, sometimes well above you, and never quite directly in front of you, that makes you want to lay down.
Helpful hint: If you find that you wish to move between the levels of the ferry while in rough seas, it's much easier to stand on the stairs while your side of the ferry is going up, and then rush up four or five stairs when your side of the ferry is dropping out from under you.
