How to place a Motorola HS 850 bluetooth headset into paring mode:
- Close the boom to turn the unit off.
- Hold down the call button until the blue light comes on.
- While holding down the call button, swing the boom open.
- (Now you can let go of the call button.)
The headset is now in pairing mode, and you can search for it using your phone. When it asks for a PIN, use 0000.

Its really really helpful instruction. I have motorola bluetooth without its manual instruction even doesn’t know its model number. Just I did follow the instuction and it works, after that I came to know blutooth device model number is HS700 – It suppose to be this instruction will wrok for every HS series bluetooth handset. it took me 10-15 minutes to download the stupid adode pdf reader to open the hs850 and that didn’t work. on jay’s site it only took me 2min tops and i paired my bluetooth without any addt’l downloads. thanks jay!

I have the 850 and when I fold the ear piece it will not turn off. The funny thing is, I leave that headset in the car and after work, when I go in the car, it automatically dials the last number dialed. It will not shut off at all even thogh it is folder. I thought it was the unit, so I have another 850 and it does exactly the same thing.
any advise would be much appreciated

That sounds like a problem with your 850….Mine would turn off when the boom was closed.
Note that if you press the button once, it issues an “action” command, and most phones treat this as “redial the last number” if you are not in a call (they typically treat it as a “hang up” command if you are in a call).

Is is it possible to pair this headset with a blackberry? The blackberry is requesting that the headset respond in order to pair and keeps timing out. Help!
I would be surprised if it didn’t work, but as I do not have a blackberry I’m afraid I can’t recommend a solution.
